finally

finally, we are the champions...
yesterday PSPC finally won the synod games day soccer tournament. admittedly, i don't feel very accomplished bcos it was only a two-game tournament. only 4 teams participated in the senior category so it was like semi-finals straightaway lol. but hey, when you finally win your first tournament, you cherish it no matter what. besides, i broke my voodoo of losing semi-finals and finals haha.
btw, happy 18th birthday joe!!! if you still read this blog heh.
kudos to joe and jeremy, our 2 under-aged players. haha. played super well. most of the attacks went through them on the left flank so i didn't have to do too much. and also to luke who only had one save to make the entire two games, but he pulled it off. somewhat.. haha. the defence played really well so luke didn't have to save anything anyway heh.
i scored a tap-in to wrap up the semi-final with a nice assist from joe. he scored a nice goal to give us the lead too. so we won 2-0. i usually score in semi-finals, but my team usually loses. this is the 5th soccer semi-final i've played in (3 with prinsep, one with HIPS, one with 1T24) and only the 2nd time i've got into the final. i've bagged 5 goals. yesterday's goal wasn't very pretty or very important though, cos i think we'd still have won 1-0 if i didn't score.
we won the final 2-0 too. finally erasing the pain of the 4-0 loss in 2006. and my first-ever final goal was pretty nice. sweet curling freekick around the wall. though they should have covered the angle better but i'm not complaining haha.
i don't think i played well. but my main duty in most of the teams i play for is to score goals, and that's what i did yesterday. so i guess it was pretty much: job done.
my nike total90 shoot boots which i bought 2 years ago for $80 is totally gone!! 5min into the first game and the sole of the left boot came out already -.- i guess that's what happens when you haven't wore it for 10months (since a-divs in 2009). then shortly after that, the sole of the right boot started to come out too. good thing luke had a pair of street soccer shoes which i could wear. so i just threw that pair away. now got no more soccer boots so i think i'll go buy one soon when i've got time. and this time i'm not buying nike. probably a cheaper brand which should be more durable.
i've got really bad scrapes near my backside on both legs from the slide tackles i made yesterday too. hope they don't hurt too much when i get back to training tmr..
well, training is getting tougher by the week. the sergeants are getting stricter too. but so far so good i guess. my section mates are pretty nice. becoming good buddies which was inevitable since we're stuck with each other everyday haha. my IPPT quite good also. new personal best for 2.4km of 9:11. but i still wanna improve by one min heh.
yup, that's about all i can think of now. see when i got time during the weekend to post again then i post la. and if i have interesting stuff to talk about. but even if army got interesting stuff we're not allowed to blog about it haha.
