think since there's not much to post abt, i shall start off my blog with a post abt this yr's church camp!! think it was a time of real fellowship with me PLH (prinsep lighthouse) frens and also a good time of growing in God..
1st day (14/6 thur): nothin much. we just arrived at Sofitel Palm Resort and checked in. Me roomies are me best bud Joe and Matthias. matthias has to sleep in TOTAL darkness, meaning really TOTAL. no lights on, curtains closed, seriously TOTAL. haha. so found it hard to manouver around the room at night. but he was a great roomie all the same;) also our room had no room service cos we put the "do not disturb" sign on (courtesy of Matthias) and so our dustbin was full and we had no change of towels the whole 5 days (shall not elaborate there) haha. good thing we were room 398, so not many visitors as it was right at the end. so anws... i led the PLH worship during our own program. it was really impromptu so it wasn't very good.. but still ok lah, i think.. and we had this angel and mortal game and jon fong was my mortal and weng shian was my angel lol
2nd day: woke up at 5am to swim, unfortunately there's no swimming form 11pm-7am-.- so i spent 2hrs b4 devotion doin nothin.. team-building games in the afternoon (organised by youth comm) were really fun and good. pile of paper, mini-golf, etc.. special thx to youth comm who helped made camp what it was for PLH:). my group, the messengers (or MSN), was really quiet. and as group leader it was my responsibility to like, encourage them and stuff, so... quite a big job thrust into my hands straight away haha.
3rd day: played football for free-time in the afternoon:) the field is really good. so far the BEST field i've ever played on. scored 10 goals (includin a cool volley, header, flying scissors-kick, etc..)haha. so now the count is 399 goals for this yr. at night also played guitar for the congregational worship!:) no real mess-ups so it was good i guess.
4th day: the best day haha. free-time i went swimming with germaine. haven't swam since last yr's camp actually haha! so did 10laps. was dying after the 1st lap lol! but managed it lah. PLH had Worship Xplosion! after ministry nite. was real cool! 1st time that so many PLHers were jumping during the songs! i mean, like almost everyone was! yup then the last nite u get to stay up late but i don't really play cards, so took a walk with germ around the whole hotel. it was nth much.
last day (18/6 mon): woke up late! at 9.43am! and i was supposed to play guitar for the congregational worship!!! haiz.. sian.. they got mark chen to replace me fortunately. yup, so after lunch went home..
from the camp i learnt that i have really grown alot since sec1. now have more frens:) got many letters from ppl (the encouragement board is real good! but the ppl must write for it to be a success) i trust in God more. now also playing guitar and worship leading from last time trying to escape PLH to play football lol (i still do! haha. nah just kiddin) the angel-mortal game is good too. but for it to work the angels must do their part... as a group leader (MSN!) i also learnt lots. like using my "craziness" for good haha. need to motivate all the new ppl in my group and the only ppl talking were me, amanda, gabriel and hui xian (and thats saying someth!) haha. guess it taught me responsibility for my juniors like chris, lup ean, ming en, becky and my "cousin" Kymberly!! haha. (kymm's my couz cos joe and i are like brothers, therefore indirectly relating her to me:) also got daryl and ariel who are real quiet haha. nevertheless, i would like to express my pride and gratitude to the group who also btw, wrote letters of encouragement to me to reaffirm me as i was questioning myself if i was a good leader or not haha.
yup, that would conclude my church camp for 2007!:) hope it was as enriching for me as it was for u! peace out..
