short update

decided to put SAJC arts first choice in the end. cos its 10 pts. my 12 minus 2 got 50-50 chance of going in i think. then 2nd choice nanyang. 3rd CJ. then if this 3 really cant go in then serangoon is my 4th choice haha.. decided to put arts stream for all of them cos wanna take H2 maths, econs, and geog. then H1 physics.
today went to suntec gelare with david to visit jon!! lol. and we got free milkshake and waffles too! hahaha.. then also saw this cool mini electric guitar at the music shop beside gelare. think i might wanna buy it so that next time go band prac or what dont need to bring around my heavy big electric guitar:D the set consists of the mini-guitar, guitar strap, picks, cable and bag. for $129. i think quite worth it lol. later ask dad if i can buy it hahaha.
then we went to play pool at paradiz as usual. this time david won the triple-threat match 5-2-2. then we decided to play a few one-on-ones. now the ranking between the three of us is jon first, david 2nd and me 3rd!!:(:( jon has improved alot from being the last to now being the champion. then i from first now become last! david is stuck in the middle haha. dont worry, i will be back to challenge for the top spot! lol.
well thats all for now. think i will go to mum and dad's office again tmr to work:)

O-level results

well looks like i'm the last out of CRYSIz to post about my results haha. as usual i guess.
i must say i am really delighted with my results. an L1R5 of 12 doesnt come very often. ok, maybe it does for some people, but i'm pretty positively sure it doesnt come for people who wake up only 3 weeks before the O's. this is no joke. i really DID only start studying 3 weeks before the O's. for witness reviews, please consult CRYSIz members, maybe my classmates, my parents will testify to that as well.. my maid too cos she sees me slacking everyday at home lol..
but advice to those who have yet to take the O's.. DO NOT start studying last minute. serious. the only reason i got 12 is bcos of God's grace and mercy. i'm not sure if i deserved that 12. start as early as possible!! i cant say learn from my mistake, but i can say learn from my experience! haha..
well.. could see me teachers and classmates were real surprised with my 12. after 2 years of getting no less than 25 for my L1R5, i more than halved my score. that's gotta be something i guess.. my prelim score was 32pts. so i actually like.. halved my score and then minus 4pts.. if u count moderation its still 28, which is half then minus 2.. yup.. and looking at my record book i realised i NEVER passed a single chem exam from sec3-sec4. so a B3 was like a miracle to quite a few 4C ppl. amaths as well. prelim i got 27% for amaths. my A2 according to ryan was like.. square root times 10 plus 20.. o.O

chinese C6 (duh.. lol..)

if u look back at the previous posts during oct-nov last yr i think u'd find that i hit my aim for every subject. except amaths got 2 instead of 1 and english got 1 instead of 2. but hey, who's complaining? and bio was better than expected.. thought i'd get a C6 lol... cos i decided to cast aside bio and focus on the other subjects. i don't know how u can NOT study a word of bio and still score a B4, but that's what i got. O.o!!! my essays were like... 4 lines of foolscap??? wow.. haha.
well.. i'm more satisfied with the realisation at how everything got hit so nicely on the dot than with the actual score itself. but i must really say this is something only God could do. you can't just do something like that in that amount of time by yourself i think.. this whole O-level thing has really led me to trust in Him alot more and realise that i dont need to worry that much at stuff cos He's got everything under control. as long as i have Him in mind. and sometimes when stuff happens like, u didnt hit a grade u wanted, or something happens that u didnt want to happen, and u dont know why things are seemingly turning bad, guess you just have to put ur trust in Him cos His plan is perfect and there's definitely a better reason why He let that happen to u.
but that doesnt mean u dont work for what u want and think "oh its ok, God will help me.."! i DID work during that 3 weeks. ok, maybe not as hard as other ppl... but i had a plan of what to do, and i was praying and drawing strength from God, praying that i had not woken up too late, etc.. came up with a strategy to get 12 pts, worked towards it, and well.. yeah... supposedly me frens said that i'm an inspiration to slackers.. er.. haha.. as much as i'd love that, i rather not cause ppl to slack and work last minute cos of my example.. so yeah. haha..
besides thanking God, i'd like to thank those ppl who've helped me along the way as well. me parents, mum helped me english too. actually i should say "my english".. that just shows u mum's standard of tuition.. HAHA! just kidding. A1 baby! my maid was barking at me everyday to study as well though i never listened to her. humans tutor, maths tutorss lol.. science tutor. and my school teachers as well.. cos i'm like a horrible student, dunno how they put up with me.. but yeah thanks.. like CRYSIz said... this guy CAN'T be the chairman of 4C in maris stella high!!!!! hahaha.. as in, surprised he's the chairman from behaviour and academic results, not that i shouldnt be allowed to be chairman or am not capable of being one. i'd like to think i was a very capable dependable responsible competent trustworthy..... zzz..... i thank CRYSIz too. for encouragement, support, and inspiration. as well as me best bud joe. for always being there to let me rant and discuss problems with. thx dudes.
eh actually why maris stella dont have like.. best-improved award from prelims to O-levels huh? i think i'd have a good chance to win that. lol..
think there's not much more to post about.. bottomline here is to just trust in God and believe that He has everything in plan for you.. like i put up in the last post, Romans 8:28 "For we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

i'm just a kid, and life is a nightmare

yeah i like that song.. "i'm just a kid" by simple plan. haha..
well.. haven't had the mood to post for a while.. guess i'm just thinking too much abt the o-level results that are coming out tmr.. so decided that i'll do a post today before i have no mood to post anymore cos of tmr. lol..
well.. what's been going on.. what's been going on? i'll tell you! my ez-link card has expired!! argh!! that doesnt mean i can't use it.. i can use it just fine, just that i've to pay adult fares now.. zzz.. two stops from hougang to serangoon cost me 93 cents!!! bus-fares are no better. but i realised the cost never goes above $2.. like i took from redhill to seragoon it cost me like.. $1.53? so actually the longer the journey, the more worth it the travel fare. sigh... just cos i'm not in a jc at the moment.. oh well..
went to work at me parents' office on monday too. did some stuff for me mum from 9am-5pm. heh.. actually quite fun. and the pay was worth it too lol.. think i'll be working there for awhile more :D til i'm posted to a JC in mid-feb. like 3 days a week from around 9am-5pm. yeah that's right... keep the greens coming in baby!!! hahaha..
well on to football... skip this part if you want... cos liverpool have not been doing well at all.. four consecutive draws in a row against weak opposition ain't gonna help our cause for a title challenge. i've already given up the title for another year.. it's getting frustrating to keep thinking "this is gonna be our year" every start of the season, only to think "next year is gonna be our year" during the mid-point of the season. it's getting pathetic, and kinda funny and laughable.. this is actually probably our best squad in a long time, at least since the time i started watching, which is around 8years ago.. not sure what is the cause.. the owners? or benitez? or the players? sigh.. 18 years without the title has been way too long..
hmm.. i haven't been able to play much football myself. haha. guess it's cos i'm not in school so nobody to play with. at least last week went to play with luke and his friends, and shawn quek and his friends. so could grab a few goals.. but looking back through past years records, this year has been the least no. of goals at this stage of the year:
23-1-02: 32 goals
23-1-03: 65 goals
23-1-04: 25 goals
23-1-05: 70 goals
23-1-06: 50 goals
23-1-07: 36 goals
23-1-08: 23 goals
oh well. guess as you get older and busier you'll just play less matches and score less goals.

sigh.. o-level results tmr.. lots of possible scores have been crossing my mind.. but i guess shouldnt think much abt it and like everyone else has been telling me, to just leave it to God. cos He'll have chosen what's the best result for me and where i should go after this.. so.. yup.. shouldn't worry.. actually worrying itself is a sin i guess.. cos like, it's a lack of faith? heh.. well i know one thing, my worse possible result is a 42 for L1R4. LOL. cos my chinese during may last year was a C6. haha.. so 6+9+9+9+9= 42. doubt that will get me anywhere though.. haha.. well that's the worstest-worst case scenario.

Synod friendly games

yesterday was the synod friendly games, organised by our church. many thanks to shawn quek who did lots to make it possible:)
had to lead PLH worship first though. playing the guitar and leading at the same time is really hard work. cos u have to keep ur timing on the guitar and stuff like that. so u're focusing on it more than leading the people. oh well.. good learning experience i guess. heh dad was right abt it being hard, although he makes it look so easy. eee.. cheat my feelings.. LOL.
anws my new DG is pretty cool. uncle shih kiat's pretty nice. his lessons are quite fun and effective as well:) AND we end on time! hahaha...
so after lunch we all made our way down to kuo chuan for the games. football actually had a lack of people cos we submitted two teams. each team had only 8 players and since it was 7-a-side football, we only had one substitute for each team. i make it clear the teams were split evenly and there was no reserve team.
well our first game was against true way presbyterian. during the games in may last year we had trashed them 10-0. but this time they were playing a stronger team. we managed to control most of the game though, but only got the breakthrough after joe got hacked down cynically in the box. i put the penalty away for me first goal of the year!:) it looked like it was right above the cone and some referees may have not given it cos it may have been out but our referee gave it and that's football. we had plenty more chances to score but their defence was keeping it real tight. i managed to score a second with a well-drilled shot from long range into the bottom corner. made it safe with my hat-trick after a burst from midfield onto a loose ball. took it down on me chest and volleyed past the keeper. 3-0 and that was it. heh. not bad to get a hat-trick in ur first game of the year, but i must say the team played excellent. joe with his hard work upfront as always. i say, i think he works harder than me now. and i think he's the best example of a team player that i've ever played with. never complains who's in his team or what's his position but just gets on with his job.
and jeremy played real composed in the defensive midfield position. bear in mind he's only sec 1 and was playing against ppl much older than him. and the way he protected the defence and spread passes was amazing.
luke keeping the team well defensively as always. he really can help in making sure we keep our positions. sensible guy. he's a much better captain than me i think. and with my tendency to run run run and burn out fast, he's always reminding me to pace myself. and also cos i always focus on my own game i forget to make sure the other players are ok but he's not afraid to let it out that "where's the defence!!?? this is YOUR man!! YOUR man!!" haha. he shouted that after having to clear the ball with an onrushing striker coming. i think he'll make a great manager if he ever becomes one. LOL seriously.
our second game was against living praise pres. heh. sorta meant they were the home team since we were playing at kuo chuan. lol. think they played better most of the game but we managed to hold on to a 0-0 draw. they were playing ppl who looked around 20 so i think it was a good result for us. game got kinda heated up as well, but hey, that's football. could see our team was really tiring so we had to make some substitutions. luke was really screaming in that game cos we were defending alot and he had to make sure we were on our toes. haha.
well after that it started to rain so the games got stopped:( but since it was already 6pm it was just nice i guess.
had to go gramma's house so couldnt join the PLHers for dinner. afterwards went upstairs to uncle danny's house to try out his Fifa08 game. haha. it's pretty fun:) he used brazil and lost 1-0 to greece LOL. some more it was giannakopoulos with a last min goal hahahaha xD. e-sean used italy and lost to hungary 3-2. i used england and probably had the toughest game against germany. stupid ashley cole got sent off after 2min. LOL. so i played the rest of the game with 10 men. after a topsy-turvy game with both sides taking the lead several times, i managed to win 5-4! lol. rooney with 4 goals and owen with 1. i think the game made rooney and robinson better than they actually are. haha.
ok sorry to bother u with football haha. but what else can i post about now that i'm stuck at home? hahaha. peace out

first week of school!

well.. the first week of school has been pretty boring. mainly cos everyone's busy at school and i'm stuck at home doing nothing. so i'm real bored.. at least have been able to relax abit i guess. not often u get to do that in singapore nowadays haha.. oh well.. have to enjoy this period while i can, cos once the o-level results are out and i go into jc, then it's work work work!
so bcos i'm so bored and david has no school we are pretty free. then today cos he was not working we decided that we will go out haha. met him after lunch at city hall mrt and then we walked to suntec city 3rd floor Gelare where jon was working haha! well i guess it was good for all 3 of us. firstly, jon had company while working and he wasn't so bored. (bcos his gelare store is at the 3rd floor nobody comes to buy any ice-cream) we talked and joked quite abit so it was a pretty fun time. and david and i benefited from some free ice-cream!! haha.. david tried like almost every flavour. i had two big scoops which normally would have cost me $6.80 but due to the friendly staff i got it absolutely free! LOL. well, not even one customer came in the whole time we were there so we could relax alot. except for a few phone calls that jon had to pick up and say "hello, suntec gelare." HAHA.
after jon's shift ended at 5pm we went to paradiz and played pool! we played sort of like, triple-threat match rules. that as long as u potted the 8-ball in at the end u were the winner. so u could score as many during the game but once someone else got the 8-ball in at the last part, u lost. winner gets 3pts, loser none. if someone fouled while potting the 8-ball it was a point each for the other two. kinda like EPL haha. i managed to get 1 win and 2 draws. so i got 5pts. david and jon both got 4. haha. actually david would have won, but the last game when he scored the 8-ball his cue ball went in too. so i got a point and won the game haha.
well.. the whole day was pretty worth it. managed to be home in time for dinner. great bonding time with david and jon too and it all cost us only $2 each!!! the free ice-cream cost us nothing and the pool game cost $5.90 so each guy paid $2. (i paid $1.90 cos i won the game haha) hmm... altho counting train and bus fare then we paid a bit more. though we walked from suntec to paradiz instead of taking the train so we saved 45cents on that. LOL. we agreed that we should always try to save as much as possible when using our own money!! hahaha.. so cheap skate lol.. well it was a fun day:) probly will do it again next monday or something:)

wow.. it's 2008.. haha.. and it's the first day of school!! well.. not for me!:D hahaha.. and some others like david and jon. feels really great man.. for the first time in my life, "first day of school" does not apply to me. lol. but now i'm trying to think of what subjects to take in JC. assuming i go there when my o-level results come out lah, which is highly not unlikely. haha. haven't thought much about how my results will turn out and i don't really wanna think about it but i'm trusting in God and praying for the best haha. but whatever i get will be God's plan and wherever i go will be where God says i can shine for him best right?:)
well i've made quite a few goals for this year. like reading the whole Bible and doing my Quiet Time everyday. which i've already done this morning:) as well as improving on my guitar. among other things.
now can just stay home and relax.. haha..
