football, football, and more football!!!

ok why there are 3 footballs is cos there are 3 things about football to talk about!!
first, cjc's A-division season is virtually over. it's still mathematically possible to qualify for the semi-finals but i think mj just has to get one more point and we won't be able to catch them. we lost to serangoon jc 3-0 last friday. i got to come on as a sub for the last 20min or so, but by then we were already 2-0 down so couldn't do much. let in an unlucky first goal, and it just crumbled after that..
then on tuesday we played against mjc. we drew 1-1 with them. what a great result! just that we could have actually got a win!!:(:( it's like some fulham team drawing with arsenal lah. haha. and wow what a surprise! i actually STARTED the game!:D like wow. before the match, we were warming up and coach suddenly told me i was starting. so i was like o.O to throw me into the starting line-up in the MJC game is like o.O!!!?? MJC dude!!! best team in the country along with vjc! heh, so had to get focused. but lotsa stupid things happened. first, my glasses strap came out and i threw it to the bench to help me get it fixed. then they somehow got it fixed, so i wore it back, but when i went for the next header it broke! o.O then they somehow got it fixed again lol. good thing 2nd half nothing happened to it lol. i think we actually played as well as mj, if not better than them, so a draw was disappointing, but still admirable. i was playing centre midfield in a 5-3-2 formation. i think i more than equalled their center midfielders:) but our season is kinda over still.. haha..
2nd thing.. liverpool have been knocked out of the champions league!!! :(:( dang.. looks like risse's own goal in the first leg proved decisive. without it, we would be through to the final cos of torres' away goal. but oh well.. another thing the a-division has taught me is that football is like that- you win some, you lose some. don't matter how well you play, in the end, it's a funny game and so many unexpected things can happen. so you just have to live with it, and get on with the game..
3rd thing.. today was cjc sports day!! i had to do time-keeping for the track events cos i'm my class PE rep. didn't participate in any events this year cos i didn't go for the heats. can't remember why, probably cos i was busy with football or something. our class won interclass basketball. nico is a monster!!! that guy is yao ming in disguise or something lol. he gets EVERY rebound!! haha.
we had interclass football too. my interclass record has not been good actually. i've only ever played two games, one in pri 4 which we lost 3-0 and one in sec 2 which we lost 1-0. so i've never scored in an interclass football match before, let alone win one. but today.. the interclass hoodoo was finally broken!!:)
1st group game - 5-0. i managed to grab a hat-trick for this, before subbing out to let rahim play.
2nd group game - 6-1. got another hat-trick. then subbed out again to let rahim play. also needed to conserve energy for the upcoming matches.
semi-final - 2-2. got both goals in a topsy-turvy match which their centreback was body-slamming me the whole day. 1st half he had my number but 2nd half when we started punting more balls along the channels for me to chase then i got the better of him. scored a great volleyed equaliser before grabbing what i thought was to be the winner. but they got a last min equaliser and it went to penalties where we lost 3-1. i was supposed to be our last kicker but didnt get to take cos we lost before my kick. oh well.. disappointed.. but.. that's football.. at least i feel proud to have lost to the winning team. and kenneth ching scored at crucial times for their team in both the semifinal and final.
3rd&4th placing - 5-0. i scored 4 for this game. bringing my total tally for the tournament to 12 goals in 4 games. i counted, and it's confirmed i'm the top scorer for this year's event. too bad they don't have a golden boot award:( kenneth ching was 2nd with 10 goals. heh. but coach was watching and i think he might have been taking notice of it. i might have solved his fox-in-the-box problem lol.
so i guess today was a fun day.. disappointed not to have gone up to get a medal, but i guess i can take pride in the fact i won the non-existing golden boot award. haha. heh.. i think this is the 1st sports day since primary school which i've not gone up to take a medal. and this is the most fun sports day i've ever had. maybe cos for sports day in holy innocents' pri and maris stella we don't have interclass football.. hmm...
