hello! just came back from church camp on monday.
yesterday was quite a wasted day cos i slept almost the whole day and didn't do any studying haha.. but today i shall try to get some physics done after i do this post.
anws, church camp was ok. it's my last church camp in PLH! haha. there's some good points and some bad points la. some bad points is that maybe TCH won't be as fun as PLH. and some good points is that don't need to follow some things in the PLH programme already.
everyday is almost the same programme. wake up and morning devotion and then go breakfast and worship and the talk and then buzz group and then lunch and then afternoon activity and then dinner and worship and talk again and then finish.
after morn devotion i usually went back to my room to skip breakfast and get some extra sleep. buzz groups were led by aunty uli and they were quite good. learnt some stuff.
the first day afternoon activity was "family bonding time". my family went to play bowling. my scores were quite good. 147 and 131.
2nd day was PLH games. my "I-Zack's team" won 1st prize. it's the second year running that my team has won the big prize at the PLH camp games. (last year we won best skit). so, yay, not bad. at least my last 2 years in PLH can win the coveted championship. LOL! then after the games the boys started dunking each other into the pool haha! i pushed weng shien in and his spectacles lens dropped out. but good thing the pool cleaner found it and returned it so i didn't need to go look for it or pay for it haha.
3rd day was freetime so we went to play football. the first and second game was played with our own PLH peeps. i scored 4 and 3 goals in those 2 games. then the 3rd game was with the other church that was there. i think we lost by a few goals. like 15-12 or smth like that. can't rmb. i scored 8 in that game. but we were all tired from the first 2 games and they were like 20+ yrs old. so i think it's not too bad. then after the game i went into the pool to cool off with paul and eddie.
at night we had worshipXplosion!! haha. i think all the worship leaders led 2 songs each. i led "one day" and "running after you". the rest of the time you have to stand there and be backup singer. but quite boring to do that and some more i was the only guy on stage. so i decided to play guitar for "at the cross" and "second chance" and drums for "free". oh yeah, the crazy part was when i did the stage dive after "running after you" haha! cos paul and the guys told me before worshipX started that if i did a stage dive they would catch me. so i was like "sure or not??" and they said yes yes we'll catch you. so ok lor. when the song ended just jump. haha! so fun. we were laughing like mad. then the last part i decided it's more fun to join the guys on the floor than with the girls on stage so i went into the crowd and we organised a stage invasion for "always & forever" haha!! we ran up onto the stage during the chorus and jumped about. super funny. yup.
then after worship i was super tired so i went back to the room and slept.
ok i think that's about it for what i can remember at church camp now. i'm lazy to type about anything else.
next year church camp in TCH already haha.
byebye.

Camp V-nest
hello!!
i'm here to talk about my class CIP! it was from 2-4 june (9am-5pm everyday) and we were facilitating a camp for kids. it was called Camp V-nest. lol. ya i know, silly name.
anyways, it was held in jiemin pri school. oh man it was quite fun haha! i really enjoyed it cos i liked the kids in my group:) i was group leader and joshua and emily were helping me (josh was the assistant leader). i think we took care of the kids pretty well and got them involved in all the games and activities. they were learning about 3 values: peace, resilience and gratefulness. haha. oh, the kids were all pri4-5.
i think my group was maybe the most well-behaved group and actually me and joshua enjoyed it alot more than the others haha. i made it a point for my group to sit together at lunch and break times. and everytime we had activity i made sure that we all sat in a circle and everyone had a chance to talk and participate. thankfully, i don't think our kids were that troublesome.
there were 6 kids in my group. 3 boys 3 girls. the boys were hafiz, marteen, and yi da. and the girls were zoey, joanne, and yining. hafiz and marteen are super funny. they kept talking to me and josh about liverpool and arsenal. and they kept doing their rock on! hand signs. lol. yi da is super cute and he's got a twin brother yi hong who looks like me and the whole class were going on about it. he really does kinda look like me cos he wears the thick specs i used to wear haha. joanne is super cute but she's shy. and she's kinda tiny. haha! super cute. josh and i kinda liked her alot cos she made the gratefulness medal for us:) zoey is quite scary cos she's alittle over-dominant. haha! like she tries to take charge when we're playing games but that's cos she's a bit more mature for her age. i found out it's cos she's the eldest of 5 kids at home. wow. yining is just like a normal girl. and she likes to tell some jokes which are kinda like.. huh?? lol.
well i don't think i'm supposed to say too much cos we're actually not supposed to write about our camp and put up any photos on facebook haha!
anyways, i learned lots from facilitating the camp and i realised that i like to work with children and i hope i get the chance to do it again. it was also a good time for me to bond with my classmates and get to know them better. especially joshua. cos he was my assistant leader and we were working very closely together and talking about our kids alot.
actually i'm doing this post cos we're supposed to write our reflections and pass them up to kenneth so i'm letting my thoughts flow with this post and then later cut and paste and make it more formal, then ok liao. haha! smart right? lol.
man, i really miss the kids in my group:(.. serious! on thursday night i couldn't sleep properly sia. kept thinking about the fun 3 days i had. i hope i can see them again. it's quite hard cos bruce, our camp instructor, didn't allow us to exchange contact info. and they live in yishun, so it's quite hard to see them around. if only it was some school around serangoon. haha. i feel like their big brother man. ok i think this is enough content to do my reflection essay. haha!
