The Day The World Changed 2008

disclaimer: the title is just a title that was come up with a few years ago and trademarked onto the date of 2nd november. not meant to suggest anything.
yeepp... it's pretty much that time of year again. haha.
well it was kinda like 3 days connnected together cos everything was so conjoined.
it started on friday 31 oct. my group had our project work oral presentation which i think was pretty ok. then at night i went to joe's school for his concert. his group's performance was really good i think. unlucky to not have won anything. then i went to justin's house for our class party. it was really late. but it was fun and good thing i managed to clock a few hours of sleep.
woke up on saturday morning and went for band prac. after that we had lunch and went to tim and erica leong's house to play badminton. i picked up some new skills from david haha. so now i'm his student. unfortunately i lost to jeremy, who was jon's student. but it's ok, with more training i can become the badminton world champion in no time.
then the twins and yiying came my house for dinner:) some nice cooking by mum and dad. but they left kinda early at about 8plus.
anws the bad thing is at night liverpool lost to tottenham!!!! our first loss of the season which brings us back to 2nd place in the league behind chelsea on goal difference. and only 5 pts infront of man u who have a game in hand. i pretty much expect man u and chelsea to be up there at the end of the season, so liverpool have to keep winning games to be in contention for the title in may next year. i'm getting more pessimistic by the day and have the feeling it's gonna be another one of those years again where i say "next year will be our year". sigh.. totally ruined my birthday early in the morning. i stayed up til 3.30am just to watch us lose to a last minute winner from pavlyuchenko (is that how u spell it?) i can't believe i've still never seen liverpool win the league in my 17 years of existence.
anws it was made better by the birthday wishes lah. i heard lots of vibrating from my phone and saw that there were like 6 msges at 12am on sunday 2nd november. wow. all camping there just waiting for the clock to strike midnight haha. in order of sending was marie, david, michelle goh, cheang, jon chien, yiying. then a little after midnight was YC, wang chang, becky, and joe. in the morning i also got smses form renyi, hannah, hui xian (after taking quite long to remember lol), si'en, genevieve and daphne. then afternoon got charles and anthony and at night huiling (who i think found out at church haha). yup thx for all the smses guys!! it was quite funny cos david's msg was like "happy birthday! am i the first?" then i replied that he was 2nd and lost to marie by one second lol. her's was at 12:00:08 and his was 12:00:09. michelle's was at 12:00:21. the rest i can't remember but seperated by a few seconds also. david, maybe if you didnt type "am i first?" you could have gained a few seconds and beat marie haha! but as it stands, marie toe is the world champion 2008.
well, i think my most surprising wish this year was by aunty june during the welcome at service haha. either they keep records of the most troublesome kids in sunday school or something else. haha..
i got quite a few nice presents too. the most touching one would be the combined gift of the twins, michelle, and angie. the four of them bought me some liverpool shirt and cap haha. and there was a nice card to go with it, which jeremy sneaked a message in as well lol the little tyke. the only birthday card i've got this year, with touching messages inside:) also got a nice sports tee thing from joe which i'm definitely wearing the next time we play soccer! and marie, hannah, grace, shaun and michelle chia also combined to get me a soccer balloon and a big red sandwich cardboard thing which said "happy, sexy, slimy, smilemy" at the front and a big "17" at the back. haha. well, i didnt wear it but it's been put into safe storage in my room. another great present and my first this year was the shirt e-sean got me!:) i'll wear it on a special occasion. mum and dad gave me some birthday money and i've bought a nice stylo reebok bag which cost $39. becky also bought me a cool present which i won't say here cos i wanna use it to play pranks on people! lol.
anws after church on sunday we went to sakae sushi at bugis to have lunch!:) those who went were me, david, jon, jeremy, joe, e-sean, michelle goh, yiying, becky, angie, marie, hannah, grace, shermaine. 14 of us. the total bill was $240!!! crap. good thing dad gave me $200 to treat them so only had to pay off the extra $40. but it was a great lunch with great company! haha.

well, i had a few reflections on my birthday. not gonna be posted here cos they are pretty long and all jumbled up. it was quite a good birthday. definitely better compared to last year. last year i had physics olevel paper on my birthday haha. well, it's good to have your birthday on a sunday!!
ok i think i will go now. e-sean wants to watch the "Transformers" DVD.
